Menstrual Disorders

w Menstrual Disorders

Disorders that influence a woman's menstrual cycle are called menstrual disorders. Polycystic ovarian syndrome, excessive exercise, and stress can all affect the menstrual cycle, resulting in irregular or nonexistent periods. Endometriosis or infection may be to blame for heavy periods, dysmenorrhoea, or painful menstruation, which can be caused by fibroids or polyps. When periods are less than 21 days apart or more than three months apart, there are grounds for concern.

Symptoms of menstrual problems include:

  • Irregular periods – Menstrual cycles that are either shorter or longer than normal are considered irregular.
  • Infrequent periods – An abnormally long interval between menstrual cycles (every 35 days or more than three months) may raise red flags.
  • Painful menstruation – It is possible to have both primary and secondary dysmenorrhea, both of which can be caused by endometriosis or fibroids.
  • Heavy bleeding.
